Variety on Tuesday used new data from Whip Media’s annual Streaming Satisfaction Report to look at viewers’ “love-hate relationship” with Netflix.
The outlet pointed out Netflix “remains the most indispensable service among major streaming platforms, with 31% of U.S. members saying they would keep the service if they could only have one video subscription.” The service also led the pack in terms of user experience, but Variety also noted Netflix is facing major challenges; the company’s decision to hike prices earlier this year was a key driver of cancellations, with the article noting Whip Media’s survey data showed 69% of respondents said that was the main reason they dropped their subscriptions. Netflix also came in last among major SVODs in terms of perceived value, Variety added.
